Description
The unique stripes of zebras make them one of the animals most familiar to people. There are three species of zebras. The name "zebra" in English dates back to c. 1600, from from the Italian word zebra. But its ultimate origin is uncertain, but perhaps it may come from Latin equiferus meaning "wild horse". While visiting in Tanzania I was able to view these beautiful animals in the wild.
