Capitol Peak is tucked away in the Elk Mountain range near Aspen, Colorado. The peak reaches some 14,137 ft and is classified by climbers as a "14er". The peak color of changing aspens typically only lasts about a week in Colorado. However, the state enjoys about a month of golds, greens, oranges, and reds from mid-September to mid-October.
